"Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going.”

EMDR is a psychotherapy that has been proven to be effective in treating trauma, and is recommended by the UK's National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Practitioners are also finding it effective in the treatment of other anxiety related disorders.
By making links between what you do, think and feel, CBT can help you make changes in the way you think (Cognitive) and the way you act (Behaviour). Making changes in what you think will affect what you do and feel, and changing what you do, affects the way you think and feel.
Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) is goal oriented, targeting the desired outcome of therapy as a solution rather than focusing on the symptoms or issues that brought you to therapy. This technique emphasises present and future circumstances and desires over past experiences.
I am originally trained in Person Centered therapy and this will always be at the core of my work but I am also qualified in a number of different treatment methods, including SFBT, CBT and EMDR. Depending on the issues presented in therapy, I may use one or more of these methods during our time together. For further details about the services on offer please click here.
